Robert Lewis (Editor)
Robert has been Editor of The Ringing World since March 2000. Before joining the paper he spent most of his career in the power generation industry, working latterly for National Power plc at its headquarters in London and Swindon. This included spells in strategic planning, international business development and public relations. Robert learnt to ring in 1985 at St. Vedast, Foster Lane in the City of London (where he still rings regularly) and at St. Mary, Abbots, Kensington W8. He is a member of the Ancient Society of College Youths and an Honorary Member of the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers. He lives in Winchester. "Being Editor of the Ringing World is a great a privilege and you certainly feel the weight of history on your shoulders. We have come a long way in the last eight years alone and the RW team is committed to building on the fine legacy of its predecessors. There are many challenges facing us in the 21st Century - but we are determined to meet them and to keep the RW at the heart of the Exercise." |
Chris Darvill (General Manager)
Chris has worked for The Ringing World since September 2006 and is responsible for the day to day operation of the business, and for the company's web presence. Prior to joining the RW he worked in the marketing industry, where he spent 12 years specialising in exhibitions and roadshows.Chris is oddly proud of the fact that he hasn't rung a peal since 2002 and he rarely rings quarters these days. He much prefers tower grabbing and thinks he has failed if he doesn't ring at every tower on an open day. He lives in Swindon with his wife and three young children, ringing at St Mark’s in the town when he can. |
Chris C (Compositor)
Chris lives in a village near the office and rings at St Mary Bourne, Hampshire. He has spent all his working life in origination part of the print industry and can utilise his extensive ringing experience whilst formatting articles and making up the paper. His other interests include classical music, N-Gauge railway modelling and preserved railways.
Christine H (Accounts Assistant)
Christine coordinates and oversees all aspects of the accounting process at the Ringing World on a part-time basis. Whilst juggling life as a busy working Mum, she occasionally finds the luxury of spare time to indulge her enthusiasm for gardening and following country pursuits.
Alison W (Administrative Assistant)
A non-ringer, Alison has worked here as a part-time administrative assistant since April 2007, and alongside Christine P she maintains the day to day running of the office. She is married and has two daughters. In her spare time (if she gets any) she likes to travel, read and spend time with her family.
Christine P (Administrative Assistant)
Christine is the latest addition to the staff at the RW, having joined us in October 2008. She is the other half of the job share with Alison. In her spare time she enjoys country walks with her husband and yellow labrador, Bess, and singing in the church choir.
