2014 Ringing World Subscription Rates
The RW Board is increasing subscription rates for 2014 in order to continue to keep the paper in the more healthy financial state that it is now in. We made a loss in every year in the five years up to the end of 2012, with a cumulative loss of over £50,000 in that period. This situation could not be allowed to continue as it was draining our financial reserves. I am pleased to say that, following the painful restructuring that we undertook during 2012, we are expecting to break even in 2013. Our financial outcome for the year is very dependent on the sale of diaries, calendars and Christmas cards so we will not know if we achieved this until right at the end of the year.
The Board can see many uncertainties in 2014 and we are working hard to ensure that we achieve our budgeted income and expenditure. However there are many risks and costs that are difficult for us to control. The modest increase in subscription rates will help the board to achieve its objective of achieving a small surplus in 2014 so that The Ringing World continues to be financially healthy.
Your continued readership is important to The Ringing World. We would like to thank you for your support in the past and hope that you will continue as a subscriber in 2014.
