The Wrexham Branch of the North Wales Association regrets to record the sudden death of Kathleen Vivienne Lambert (Viv), who died on 7th February 2014 in Wrexham Maelor Hospital after a very short illness. She was 69.

Viv, together with her husband Peter, was an active ringer at St. Giles, Wrexham where she was an invaluable member of the team. She was also an active member of St. Marcella’s, Marchwiel, a nearby village.

Viv was very well known in Wrexham and district, having worked for many years as a locum pharmacist in local chemist shops and was highly respected by all with whom she came into contact. She was also involved in many local charities and activities and her drive to work and help those less fortunate in the community stemmed from her strong faith.

Viv had a great love of tennis and had been a member of Wrexham Tennis Club since she was 5 years old, although she would have been too modest to claim she was the longest serving member.

The large church of St. Giles, Wrexham, was full to capacity for Viv’s funeral service on Tuesday, 18th February, with the 10 bells rung half-muffled both before and after the service. Following the service, Viv was laid to rest in the churchyard at Marchwiel.

Viv will be immensely missed by the ringers and the many people who had the privilege to know her and we extend our deepest sympathy.
