The Ringing World was launched in 1911 by John Goldsmith, as a newspaper for all bellringers. Goldsmith ran it singlehandedly for thirty years.
Today the Ringing World Ltd is both a Limited Company and a Registered Charity. It is run by a small staff team supported by contractors and volunteers: they produce the weekly journal, maintain and develop BellBoard, organise the Ringing World National Youth Contest and support our wider publishing and charitable work. The Board of Directors also act as the Trustees of the charity and the charity’s membership is made up of those members of the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers who consent to being members of The Ringing World.
