The second Ringing World National Youth Contest takes place at St Paul’s Church, Birmingham tomorrow (30th June). At last year’s inaugural Contest, the three young Judges were Tessa Beadman, James Marchbank and Imogen Brooke, and Imogen told us what it was like to be on the team:
“Judging a striking competition was a completely new experience to me. Because of this, although I had been given lots of advice about how to do it and what to expect, I was still very nervous at the start of the day. Judging the competition involved concentrating very hard for a long period of time but I found that I got into the swing of things very quickly and did feel confident about what I was doing. It was also a little nerve racking reading my remarks out in front of so many people, but it was a very good experience. I was very pleased to have been asked to judge the competition as it was something I had never expected to be asked to do and listening to the ringing on the day was very enjoyable. Hopefully there will be many similar competitions in the future.”
